Mervyn Bedford is a highly
acclaimed Early Years Music Teacher, Trainer and Childrens
Song Writer. He established his first Music and Movement classes
for children in 1996 and has since become much sought-after
throughout the U.K. and abroad for his inspirational training
workshops and childrens songs.
He also acts as sole U.K. representative for the Internationally
renowned Musikgarten Programme. Mervyn is married to Kathryn
and has 3 daughters - Tabitha and twins Joanna and Harriet.
Classes for Children
Mervyn sees over 300 children
each week during term time through his regular Music and Movement
Classes. His schedule also includes some pre-school visits
and after-school clubs. "He has a natural talent with
small children, a very firm grasp of their psychology and
a sparkling rapport in his classes".
He will shortly be training teachers to replicate this outstanding
music and movement programme throughout the U.K.
Teacher Training
Mervyn has undertaken work
in his capacity as Conference Speaker and Teacher Trainer
for many Early Years organizations including: The Pre-school
Learning Alliance, Social services, The British Private Day
Nursery Association, The Montessori Schools Association, County
Music Services, Sure start and others.
He recently ran workshops at The National Share Conference
at the Birmingham NEC and The National Montessori Conference
in London. He will be running workshops in Germany and Cyprus
in October 2006 for Early Years Teachers working with British

Based on sound educational concepts, his songs appeal to the

years music education. Mervyn's CD Flower
Pot Rock is a delightful collection of 34 new
songs, rhymes and sounds on a garden/outdoor theme. He is
currently composing new material for his next album.
