Mervyn has visited many different schools to lead musical events. He can deliver a
session around particular themes, special occasions or explore exciting musical
concepts in nature for those schools who have forest school sites or outdoor class rooms. He has brought interactive music sessions to end of term events and
adjudicated an inter-house music competition!

Sessions can be booked by the hour and can be delivered to separate key stage
groups or as a whole school experience. Fees are £70 per one-hour session.

Music sessions outside

"The music of the forest has a magical beat, click it with your fingers, tap it with your feet..."

This highly interactive session explores the science of sound, 'high' and 'low' through experimentation with string and buckets and provides plenty of opportunity to explore and develop the singing voice. Rhythm and beat is reinforced throughout and children will love to play our tapping woodpeckers as we discover three reasons why he taps the tree!

The dynamics of sound are explored as we collect objects from the forest environment as well as crafting a simple percussion instrument to accompany the singing. This session is packed with educational meat and will provide a rich and holistic contribution to musical development whilst supporting many other areas of the curriculum in an outdoor setting.

"I just wanted to say thank you again for a wonderful workshop on Tuesday. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and there are nothing but smiles on their faces in all the
photos that we have got - highly recommended!"
